2016-01 - Todos Santos Music Festival

On Stage & Setlists :

This amazing Chrisha's review from the LonelyAstronaut Forum tells us everything :

This year at Peter Buck's Todos Santos Music Festival, Joseph didn't perform as much as previous years, due to the fact there were too many performers playing on the 1st weekend, we only saw him perform once on the 1st weekend, & all 3 shows on the 2nd weekend, even though he arrived early & was there for most of the whole festival

Here are Joseph's setlists from the various days that he performed:

14 January 2016 - Night 1, Hotel California, Todos Santos, Mexico

Soundcheck: Joseph solo: Pledge Of Allegiance / Black Lexus

Show: Joseph solo: David Bowie poem / Pledge Of Allegiance / Maybe You

21 January 2016 - Night 4, Hotel California, Todos Santos, Mexico

Soundcheck: Joseph w/John Jackson (Jayhawks) on violin : Out On A Limb (part) / Come Back When You're Poor / Travel As Equals

Show: Joseph w/John Jackson on violin: Out On A Limb / Travel As Equals / Come Back When You're Poor / Walk On The Wild Side

22 January 2016 - Night 5, Hotel California, Todos Santos, Mexico

Soundcheck: Joseph solo: Come Back When You're Poor (part) (Joseph essentially doodling on the guitar)

Show: Heroin (w/ Peter Buck - Drums, John Jackson - violin, Rami Jaffee - keyboards) / Pledge Of Allegiance (w/ Jackson, Mike Mills - bass, Jaffee - accordion) / The Ballad of Boogie Christ (w/ Jackson, Mills, Jaffee - keyboards) / I Miss The Zoo (w/ Jackson, Mills, Jaffee) (performed while painting) / Honey And The Moon (w/ Jackson, Jaffee - accordion)

23 January 2016 - Night 6, Town Plaza, Todos Santos, Mexico

Soundcheck: Joseph w/ Rami Jaffee on keys or accordion: Free Freedom / September Baby / Out On A Limb (part) / The Ballad Of Boogie Christ

Show: Still Life Honey Rose (solo) / September Baby (w/ Jaffee) / Heroin (w/ Jaffee & Peter Buck - drums) / Crying Like A Man (performed while painting)

Joseph was pretty out of it when he performed on Night 1, so was a bit hit & miss & his equipment was playing up. He was a lot more drunk when I saw him later on enjoying the other performers.

His sets on the 2nd weekend were really good, like he had something to prove, & have video from the Plaza show doing 'Heroin' with Peter Buck, which I'll post. I'll post photos from each night soon.

He did complain that he didn't get much playing time, the longest set was only 25 minutes. But yet again it was a wonderful festival.
