"We're pleased to begin working with the extremely talented visual artist and singer songwriter Joseph Arthur.

We first spoke with Joseph back in March, when he was kind enough to invite us onto his radio show, where we discussed the Music For All project. He has been enthusiastic about our plans to provide more music industry tutorials and relevant documentation to help independent artists.

Joseph was abruptly dropped by his management, booking agent and other collaborators in 2021. We're brainstorming a good place to start rebuilding. He has new music he's excited to release, and an extensive discography.

We strongly believe an artist should never have to make compromises with regards to personal autonomy or freedom of expression, and this often means doing more things yourself.

We're starting from scratch with a fresh perspective, learning what aspects of the existing music industry we can use to our advantage and what we should re-think. We will document our progress every week.

Starting today, we're excited to begin releasing new music with Joseph Arthur and sharing what we learn along the way.

Andrew Grathwohl over at Bon Aqua Computer Club is going to help us master the tracks.

Joseph is going to record and mix each track, as well as create artwork.

And I'm going to help with miscellaneous bits, digital distribution and marketing ideas as well as giggling all the time and telling everyone they're doing a great job.

We've also started a weekly podcast where we'll go over the less boring parts of this process.

In early August we set our sights on releasing a track a week. While this was great motivation to get organized, ultimately we decided setting arbitrary deadlines may be counterproductive and something more like a song every other week would be more reasonable.

There is a fine line between keeping up momentum and not rushing. My take away here is have your art and music ready to go before you decide on a street date."

Joseph and MusicForAllClub launched a new Gumroad site for The Knockout Podcast + Project on 09/07/2022.

Joseph wants to use this new vector to release new music independently without a record company, manager or booking agent with a variety of guests.

It will make available a podcast, new music, blog posts, live performances, unreleased tracks and exclusive content on a regular basis.
